Modern caravans use single "one shot" wheel hubs and good old fashioned brake drums and shoes.

These all wear during use and need to be maintained and replaced on a regular basis.

Gas fires, cookers, water heaters and fridges all need to be checked for safety just the same as your household gas appliances.

Additionally the overall fabric and construction of a caravan can deteriorate very quickly if damp were to penetrate the shell.

This is a leading cause of caravan write offs much more then accidents.

Like a car new caravans come with a time limited warranty but they tend to have to be serviced by an approved dealer.

Just like a car dealer servicing can be expensive and their hourly rate can be high.
